Freelance Motion Graphic Designer & Video Editor || 2016 - Present
In 2016, I launched my freelancing career as a motion graphic designer and video editor, using the skills I had built in animation and video editing. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work with some amazing clients. I’ve been the sole editor and animator on YouTube channels (including one with 750K+ subscribers) and have designed content for brands such as Barefoot Wine, HotelTonight, and Xoom. I’ve also worked with great agencies and video production companies, which I’ve outlined below.
I enjoy working with small companies, entrepreneurs, and creative individuals to find out how I can be an all-in-one solution for their animation, video, or design needs. I’m open to any project, but I typically work on the following types of projects:
Explainer and educational videos, both animation and full editing
Animated website/app demos, technical diagrams, maps, and process overviews
Advertising, sizzles, vlogs, and podcasts (both audio and video)
Green screen composition and visual effects (VFX)
I'm always open to learning new tools that improve my design workflow, but my preferred software I use in my projects every day includes:
Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Audition) for animation, design/illustration, and video work.
Blender and Cinema 4D for 3D animation and design
ClearMix
Lead Video Editor - Post-Production Supervisor || 2020 - 2023
ClearMix is a Y-Combinator startup that simplifies the process of creating remote customer testimonials, company overviews, and product demos for companies. They achieve this by using a live producer to capture content and an expert video editing team to bring ideas to life.
I began working with ClearMix in 2020 as a freelance editor and animator, and was later hired as the Lead Video Editor in 2021. In this role, I was responsible for editing all videos, designing motion graphics for both customers and ClearMix's internal video needs, and shaping ClearMix’s overall video strategy. I eventually progressed to Editing Team Lead and Post-Production Supervisor, where I managed a team of video editors, motion graphic designers, and freelance editors, as well as oversaw our entire video production pipeline.
At ClearMix, I oversaw over 1,000 video projects while the company raised over $3 million in investor funding. I led editing and project management on videos for well-known companies and institutions such as Johnson & Johnson, Google, Bloomberg, Blackberry, Abbott, Cornell Tech, The University of Texas at Austin, Brex, Codecademy, Openphone, Politico, ScyllaDB, Scaleflux, and many others.
